We provided civil engineering services for accessibility upgrades at an existing apartment complex in Sacramento, California. Engaged through the project’s architecture firm, we handled the full civil scope from initial survey through construction.
Our work included a limited topographic survey of the existing site, a full set of Civil Construction Documents, and construction phase services. The topographic survey established existing site conditions as the foundation for the civil design. The construction documents carried the design through permitting and into construction, with construction phase services supporting the contractor through the build.
Accessibility upgrades on existing residential properties require civil engineering across several site systems simultaneously. Because improvements overlay existing infrastructure, accurate survey and thorough construction documentation are the controls that let the contractor work without discovery delays on the site. We established site conditions first, designed to what was already built, and remained available through construction to resolve field conditions as they came up.
