Affordable Senior Housing
Vista Wood Senior Apartments is a 179-unit affordable senior housing development at 1230 San Pablo Avenue in Pinole, California. MRK Partners engaged Calichi to provide dry utility consulting services beginning in 2021, covering both the new building service and an overhead utility undergrounding effort required by the City.
Our base scope covered the full joint trench workflow: coordinating the application process with PG&E, Comcast, and telephone providers, preparing joint trench intent drawings and composite construction documents, developing trench cost estimates, and assembling the bid package for the conduit and box infrastructure serving the new building.
The City of Pinole required that all existing overhead utilities along the adjacent public right-of-way be relocated underground as a condition of the development approval. We submitted the Application for Service to PG&E through the Customer Connections Portal and coordinated the removal of existing poles along Roble and Encina Avenues, with 440 linear feet of overhead lines relocated underground to new termination points.
