Calichi provided civil engineering services for a proposed 4-story multi-family building at 913 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Oakland, California. The project develops a vacant 8,664-square-foot parcel, with our civil scope spanning from early planning through construction documents and administration.
Our work included topographic and boundary survey, civil planning entitlement documents, a tentative parcel map, and full on-site civil construction documents including City of Oakland encroachment permit (P-Job) packages. We submitted a fire service flow and pressure request to EBMUD to document available water supply, and coordinated Green Point Rating documentation during the construction document phase. Working on a compact urban infill lot required close coordination across grading, erosion control, and demolition packages to meet City of Oakland plan check standards.
Calichi was re-engaged in 2023 under a new prime agreement to provide an updated topographic and boundary survey and carry the civil planning entitlements and tentative parcel map forward. The 2023 scope also included a lot merger map to consolidate the existing parcels into a single parcel.
