Ka’anapali Coffee Farms is on Maui, Hawaii. Calichi provided civil engineering for a residence there, managing three permit tracks: Ka’anapali Coffee Farms design review, grading permit plans, and an individual wastewater system (IWS) septic permit through the State of Hawaii Department of Health.
The design review and grading permit plans were both completed by the end of 2017. The IWS permit required sustained in-person coordination with DOH. Calichi staff made four trips to the DOH office: an initial application submittal, a trip to collect written review comments, and two resubmittals. A $100 state filing fee for the IWS permit application was billed to the project. Plan deliveries spanned four dates across January and February 2018.
The project ran from mid-2017 through early 2018. Each of the three permit tracks carried its own submission sequence and reviewing body. Calichi managed all three from the initial design review through the final DOH resubmittal.
